Helping you take care of your furry friends!
Born and raised in San Francisco, I grew up with dogs throughout my childhood. My first dog, an Akita named Zoe, was a former show dog. My second dog, a doberman named Shasta, was the sibling of the two Doberman Pinschers featured on the original Magnum P.I. television series. In fact, the show was occasionally filmed at my Uncle's nursery, where he and his wife bred and raised show quality Dobermans.
While I learned to love dogs at a young age, I never understood what it meant to properly raise a dog. It wasn't until 2013, when my passion for dogs began after I adopted my first dog, Kona. In 2016, I adopted my second dog - Scooby. I realized the many challenges of trying to raise dogs to behave properly in various settings. Nothing frustrated me more than not getting my dogs to listen to me when I needed them to. I went through several trainers who provided some techniques and tools, but it wasn't until I consulted a dog behaviorist who showed me foundational principles that focused on my relationship with my dogs, better known as dog psychology.
After fostering several dogs since then, I decided to turn my passion into a career working with dogs. It is my belief that while all dogs have unique traits, most behavior is conditioned, whether positive or negative. As pet parents, we often are unaware of how our actions, emotions, and energies affect our pets' state of mind. My goal is to help pet parents re-create their relationship with their dogs through leadership, respect, structure, and affection. Some examples are controlled leash walks, threshold work, place work, crate training, and recall training.
My name is Kona. I’m daddy’s first boy and happy to welcome you to our pack!
